Max six persons for each day to allow for more quality printing time on the
two etching presses we have in the studio. This introductory workshop is designed for you to learn or re-develop, the basics of this well established printmaking process. The two-day workshop will cover the basic areas of an etching combing both safer and most practical process allowable within this studio envoirment and allowing you time for both experimentation and development of your work.
This workshop is open to all and offers an opportunity to work toward a number of possible outcomes. All basic materials such as ink and proofing paper is included.
Specialist paper and a range of inks and Zinc plate’s are available to purchase at the studio. The day includes: Plate preparation and application of different grounds. Demonstration of applications of different drawing techniques using a range of etching and dry point tools. Combination of etching and aqua tinting of the plates using a range of different techniques. An application of hand ground inks and proofs printing
